Obituary of Beulah McLay
On November 28, 1923 Beulah Jane McLay was born to Matthew and Jessie Hensley in Hopkinsville, KY.
She was preceded in death by husband, Deacon Aaron McLay.
She accepted Christ at an early age at St. Luke C.M.E. Church and later joined 14th Ave. Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. Felton Price, where she served faithfully on the Senior Usher Board.
She was educated in the Houston county schools and was a graduate of Pearl High School in Nashville, TN.
Her home was a place of gathering for Sunday dinners for family and friends that were always welcome.
She leaves to cherish precious memories; daughter, Vanzora (Reuben, Jr.) Jackson, sons, Stanley McLay, Sr. and Michael McLay, grandchildren Sonya (todd) Bell, Reuben “trey” (LaSandra) Jackson, Stanley (Capre’) McLay, Jr., Denise N. Jackson, Shelia Harper, Denise (Jay) Hatcher, and Ebony Davidson, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren. In addition nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and the 14th Ave. M.B. Church Family. Beloved “Other Daughters,” Doris McLay, Beverly Johnson, Norma Morton, and Sherrie Spencer.
