Obituary of John H. Kilcrease

John H. Kilcrease, Sr. (Bubba), 85, passed away July 6, 2018. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee, February 4, 1933 to the late Irvin, Sr. and Carrie Dalton Kilcrease. John graduated from Pearl Sr. High School and attended Tennessee State University after serving his country in the U.S. Army from April 10, 1953 and was honorably discharged March 25, 1955. He lived in Nashville his entire life and worked at Ford Motor Glass Company until retiring in 1996. He was a member of UAW Local 737. John was a member of Kayne Avenue Baptist Church all his life where he served on the Deacon Board. He contributed to numerous organizations and charities. His giving nature was widely known as he always lended a hand to anyone that needed help.

He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted and loving wife of 59 years, Augusta, three children, Phle' (Decatur, GA), John Jr. (Jonesboro, GA) and Min. Daletta (Nashville, TN), two grandsons, DeJon and Jabari (Decatur, GA), two sisters, one brother, one sister-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and extended family.

Public visitation Friday, July 13, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Lewis & Wright Funeral Directors. On Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. (Visitation) and 12:00 p.m. (Funeral) at Kayne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 1025 12th Avenue South. Interment will be at Greenwood  Cemetery North, 1248 Dickerson Rd., Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
