Obituary of Shawn Leddell Jackson

Shawn Leddell Jackson, (loving husband, father, and son) passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2019 at the age of 47.

Shawn was born on June 9, 1971 in Nashville, TN to James R. Jackson and Rose Jones.

On May 28, 2006, he married Karen (Scott) Jackson and together they raised DeShaun M. Jackson—affectionally known as “Deedee.”

Known for his amusing and easy-going demeanor, Shawn was a natural jokester amongst his family and friends. With his quick wit and ability to entertain others, he could always evoke a laugh with a single comment.

A graduate of Whites Creek High School; Shawn worked for Republic Services Company for 15-years, before beginning a new career with Waste Management Company in March.

A protective and compassionate spirit; Shawn loved to cook! His salmon recipe was exceptional, and many traveled from far and wide for his legendary Fish Frys.

Shawn was preceded in death by his father, James R. Jackson.

He leaves to cherish his memory: wife (Karen), two sons (DeShaun Jackson and Preston Lowe), mother (Rose Jones), sister (Phenesia “Tina” Eusebio of Laurel, MD), a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and one amazing puppy (Sanford L. Jackson).

Shawn’s Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 3rd, 2019 at The Temple Church in Nashville. Viewing will begin at 11am, with services immediately following at 12pm (noon). Flowers and cards may be sent to Lewis & Wright Funeral Home in Nashville.
