Obituary of Michael E. Booker, Sr.
Mr. Michael Eugene Booker, Sr. was born in Nashville, Tennessee on December 3, 1957 to the late John Thomas Booker and Lucille Frierson Booker. He departed this life May 29, 2019.
Michael received his secondary education from Pearl High School. He also attended Cohn High School for a short time. This is where he met the love of his life, Charity Scruggs. They were united in Holy Matrimony on August 8, 1978. They shared their lives together in marital bliss. To this union they were blessed with four children.
Michael was employed at Belle Meade Country Club for many years as a Sous-Chef. In 2005, he embarked upon a career at Bordeaux Hospital until he became ill.
Michael was a devoted husband and father. He worked hard to provide for his family.
During his free time, Michael loved to cook, fish, ride a motorcycle, barbecuing, traveling, and watching the NFL football games, especially the Washington Redskins.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Michael Jr. and Tavaras Booker; brothers, John Booker and Larry Booker; sisters, Sharon Booker and Theresa Booker
Mr. Michael Booker leaves to cherish his life and memories a devoted wife, Charity Booker; daughters, Courtney Moore and Cassandra Booker; son, Michael T. Booker; grandchildren, Matthew Battle, Alexander and Corey Moore; a devoted sister, Sheila Booker; sisters, Andrea (Stephenson) Belgrave and Tonia (Walter) Metlow; brothers, Carl (Cheryl) Booker, Kenneth Booker and Derrick Booker; brothers-in-law, Willie Scruggs, LC (Merrell) Scruggs and Ozie Scruggs; sisters-in-law, Sarah (Jerry) Harkness, Clardine Robertson and Yolanda (Larry) Woods; aunts, Mary F. Crawford, Mildred Crawley and Mary Booker; uncle, Henry Frierson; God children, Derrick and Marie Johnson, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
