Age 66 of Nashville transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Ethel Carpenter Sr. He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Carpenter; daughter, Myria Emma Dawn Carpenter; step-son, John E. Sanders Jr.; five step-grandchildren, Jontarious Sanders, Janeisha Sanders, John Sanders III, James Sanders and Jakari Sanders. sisters, Eileen Carpenter (Elliot Wallace), Pearl (William) Beguesse-Richardson, and Irene (William) Moore; nieces, Kia N. Beguesse and Kyla A. Beguesse; great nieces, Anna M. Alegria and Jasmine Beguesse-Jarvis; sister in law, Linda M. Wade; brother in law, James (Gloria) Thomas, Jr.; lifelong friends, George Weaver, William Frazier and Reverend Alvin Hall Jr; devoted cousins, Tony Whitman, James D. Campbell and Thurman Bryant; and many other relatives and friends. Public viewing Monday, July 8, 2019 from 3-6pm at Lewis and Wright. Public viewing Tuesday, July 9th from 11am-12 noon with funeral to follow at Lewis and Wright with Reverend Alvin Hall, Jr., Eulogist.
