Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Bowling
Mary Elizabeth Bowling affectionally known as “Mary B” was born September 11, 1953 to the late Ray Lee Bowling and Robbie Lee Bowling. She was the tenth of twelve children born to this beloved union. Mary departed this life on Friday, July 19, 2019 after suffering a terminal illness.
Mary was born in Brentwood, TN and lived her life in the South Nashville community. She received her education in the Davidson County Public School system attending Cameron High School and Hume Fogg High School. She later obtained a certificate in Interior Design. She also worked as a dental assistant for numerous years.
Mary gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt Lebanon MBC in Brentwood, TN. She later joined Faith United MBC and attended faithfully until her health began to fail. She also attended Friendship MBC along with her daughter.
Mary B was the life of the party. There was never a dull moment around Mary B or “Lil” G as her Southside community knew her as. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, sowing, and rapping. Mary proceeds in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters and Grandchild Jaylen Bowling.
Mary leaves her cherished memories to her loving daughters Linda (Jimmy) Bowling-Robins and Ashley “EE” Bowling, loving Son Justin “JD” Bowling, grandchildren Deandre Bowling and Heaven Robins, great-grandchildren Deandre Craig, Tyler Bowling, and Saint Floyd, one Sister Shirley Calloway, and one Brother Vernon Lee Bowling, two devoted Sister in laws Nathene and Mary Bowling, an earthly daughter Robbie “Tiny” Buchanan (Lil Alvin), earthly granddaughter Shamira Craig, devoted nephews Victor Mays, Tre Calloway, devoted niece Juryea Roberts and along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and 2nd Drive Edgehill Manors and Phyllis Wheatley Homes friends.
