Obituary of Charles Edward Robinson

Charles Edward Robinson, Sr., transitioned from this life on Thursday, August 1, 2019.   Preceded in death by his parents, the late Reverend Isiah Robinson, Sr. and Catherine Deliah Rogers Robinson, also he joins his brothers Isiah Jr., Leslie, Joe Louis, and Willie Leroy; and his sons Charles Edward, Jr. and Johnathan Robinson. 

He will be remembered most by his patient, kind, loving and considerate nature. 

Charles is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruth Hickman Lillard Robinson; daughters, Charlene, Catherine, and Candace Robinson of Nashville, TN;  sisters, Margaret Smith of Rockville, Maryland and Bobbie Caldwell of Sacramento, California; step-children, Robert W. Lillard, Jr. and Maria (Timothy) Lillard-Terry of Nashville, Tennessee; brothers-in-law John (Shelia) Hickman, Jr. of DeBary, Florida;  Reginald (Patricia) Hickman of Nashville, Tennessee, and Daryl (Lisa) Hickman, Sr. of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Margaret Cain of Nashville, Tennessee, Georgia Holloway Robinson of Arlington, Tennessee, Carrye Robinson Otis of Los Angeles, California; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Charles’ life at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church (1203 Ninth Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37208) on Friday, August 9, 2019, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and services to follow.  Arrangements and professional services provided by Lewis & Wright Funeral Directors.
