Obituary of Tera White Bass

Please share a memory of Tera to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Tera White Bass was born on March 19, 1937 in Pulaski, Tennessee. She was the second of three children born to Myrtle Mason White and Sidney White, Sr. She received her early education in the public schools of Pulaski. At 13 years of age, she moved to Nashville. On January 7, 1954, Tera married Richard E. Bass, Sr. To this union, seven children were born. Because she was a military wife, Tera lived in various places, including Hawaii. A very family-oriented person, she loved her children and grandchildren. Introverted, yet funny, she often joked about giving “whoopins,” and not only with her children. An unsung hero, Tera often visited less privileged neighborhoods, giving away breads and pastries. The residents looked forward to her coming, many times asking her to help them by finding clothes, shoes, and household items that they had limited access to find for themselves. She always seemed to deliver what they needed, and she did it gladly for the privilege of helping others. Earlier this year, Tera professed her faith in Christ. This hope brought her comfort and burned brightly in her heart. After a long illness, she passed away just before midnight on November 14, 2020, just as her husband had passed away on November 14, 1996. Tera was preceded in death by her husband Richard E. Bass, Sr., her infant son Dorian, mother Myrtle Mason White, father Sidney White, Sr., brother Sidney White, Jr., sisters-in-law Anita Budenski and Mattie Campbell, and brother-in-law Alvin Bass. She leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted daughter, Phyllis (Charles Smith, Sr.), Goodlettsville, TN; sons, Richard (Carol), San Antonio, TX, Darcy (Angelia), Smyrna, TN, Quintin (Judith), Shawn, and Ivy, all of Madison, TN; grandchildren, Rachel, Dorian, Darnell, Demetrius, Dominic, Daniel, Alia, David, Nicole (Esden), Cory, Sr., Letecia, Viola, Vincent, Victor, LeVeta (Ray), Charles, II (Patricia); greatgrandchildren, Aaron, Natalie, Meeca, Kyree, Amir, Dallas, Braxton, Ava, Cory, Jr., Zavier, Joseph, Jevon, Carlton, Cali, Nahla, RayNesha, RaySean, Darrian, Darrius, Cadence, and Apryl; great greatgrandchild, Melody: sister Mildred (Lonnie) Tyler; sisters-in-law Margaret White and Ruby Bass; uncle, Billie White; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
