Obituary of Doylkethia Faye Everson - Batey

Doylkethia Everson Batey was born in Nashville, Tennessee on September 27, 1980 to Jennifer Mason Everson and Thomas Ford, Sr. God called her home on September 3, 2021. Doylkethia truly had a heart of gold and she would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She loved her family and she was very protective of them. Her family was her life. She supported her children in all that they did. She would always be found taking them to football and soccer practice and being there to show her love. She also loved to travel to different places and she enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and friends, especially during the holidays. “Doy”, as she was affectionely called by many, will truly be missed by all that loved her. Her memory will forever be cherished by her husband, Marcus Batey; daughter, Marketha Batey; sons Markel and Markeis Batey; stepsons, Marcus Batey, Jr., Markelos Owens and Aerlon Greer; goddaughter, Janae Glenn; godson, Jacques Hatcher; granddaughter, Dehjah Hawkins; mother, Jennifer Mason Everson; aunts, Robin Everson, Lolethia Muse (Chan); Uncle, Terry Everson; brothers, Thomas Ford, Jr., James Glenn and Larenzo Shelton; sisters, LaToya Jones, Tierra Glenn and Sherita Jones; brother-in-law Antonio Batey; mother-in-law Zeretha Frierson; devoted cousins, April Ford, Amos Smith, Dan’Tonio Muse, Chandler Muse, Chance Muse, Shawnon Everson, Dominique Johnson and Tyler Williams; best friends, Shetika Fletcher and Tasha Carter; special friends, Ms. Andrea Shelton and Lischey Avenue Family and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and church members. Public Walk Through will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Lewis and Wright Funeral Directors. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Love United Missionary Baptist Church, with family visitation being held from 10:00a.m. - 11:00 a.m. We ask that all family and friends in attendance follow all COVID-19 and Social distancing guidelines in efforts to keep everyone safe.
