Obituary of Beatrice Shaw Fuller

Please share a memory of Beatrice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Beatrice Elizabeth Shaw was born in Brownsville, Tennessee on March 5, 1925. She was the second of ten children born to the late Pauline and Earl Shaw. Beatrice was educated in the public schools of Haywood County, Tennessee. Beatrice was a caring and loving sibling to her younger brothers and sisters, which proved to be her life’s calling and passion . . . caring for others. At an early age, Beatrice professed her love for Christ and was baptized and became a member of Beach Grove Church of Christ. In 1946, Beatrice married the late D B Fuller, Sr. (her high school sweetheart) and they relocated from Brownsville to Nashville. To this union four children were born . . . John, Regina, Marion, and D B, Jr. Beatrice attended Lane College (Jackson, TN), Tennessee State University and Peabody College in Nashville, TN, where she studied Home Economics. Beatrice’s education served her well, as she worked for the State of Tennessee as a nutritionist for many years. Beatrice’s generosity was evident through her willingness to share and help loved ones. She utilized her home to board and care for family members and others during their college matriculation. When Beatrice moved to the suburbs of Nashville, she converted the family home into a daycare (Fuller’s Love Daycare) where she continued her nurturing spirit as a caretaker. For nearly 20 years, she cared for and loved her daycare children, providing nutritional meals, learning activities, and outdoor exercises. Beatrice loved her church family. For nearly 60 years, she was a member of Hart Street Church of Christ, and attended regularly until her husband’s health failed (followed by her declining health). Beatrice leaves to cherish her memory her adult children, John Frank Fuller, Regina Faye Martin, Marion Cecil (Pam) Fuller, and D B Fuller, II; grandchildren, Brian (Cynthia) Fuller, Pompey (Demica) Hawkins, Rodivus Fuller, Justin Fuller, D B Fuller III, Eldon Fuller, Doxiades Fuller and Aeryk (Mark) White; siblings Roger Shaw, Armanda Teamer, and Flora Lee; loving memories of deceased siblings Leslie Shaw, Cloy Shaw, Paralee Dunnings, Raymond Shaw and Earline Pigford; a host of great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers all donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
