Obituary of Mary Crawford

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Saturday, March 12, 2022, the world lost a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Ms. Mary Louise Crawford was born August 24, 1939, to the late Thomas Crawford, Sr. and Joe Etta Hogg Crawford in Nashville, Tennessee. Mary was the fourth of twelve children born to this union. Mary was reared in a Christian home and accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, now known as Family of Faith Church. Mary was educated in the Public School System of Davidson County eventually graduating from Haynes High School in Nashville, Tennessee. At a young age, Mary was united in Holy Matrimony to Randolph Moore, Sr. and to that marriage four children were born, Randolph, Jr., Felitia, Steven, and Sonya Moore. She leaves to cherish her gift, a gift that kept her calm in calamity and resolute even in adversity. It’s no wonder she maintained her hobbies of bowling, travel, and photography - she enjoyed what life had to offer with intrepid vivacity. Yet, she still had the time and energy to care for her family and friends that needed it, and there were many. Indeed, Mary had a warm ambience that stayed despite it all. She moved softly, laughed, and spoke softly, she epitomized a rich femininity. Certainly, all who knew her could agree she was sophisticated company. More than anything as the days passed Mary held to what had carried her on the journey of life; her faith in God, and a smile that no tribulation could distort. Mary was preceded in death by her son, Steven Eugene Moore and grandson, Alvarez Michael Martin, Jr., and by brothers, Clarence, Johnny, Rufus, Wayne, Franklin, and Thomas Crawford, Jr. Her story and legacy are remembered through her devoted son Randolph, Jr., daughters, Felitia Major and Sonya (Tamer), grandchildren, Ashlee, Jordann and Kameron Moore; Joshua Moore, Steven Major and Asia Moore; Salim, Suhaila and Sirajaldeen El-Othman; two great grandchildren, Joshua “JJ”, Jr. and Nori B. Moton; brothers, William (Jacqueline), David (Louise) Crawford, Paul (Floy) Crawford, and Larry (Linda) Crawford; sister, Patricia (Joe) Malone. Devoted sister-in-law, Marie Babb, devoted nieces, Faye, Bunny and Vicky, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
