Obituary of Rita Montgomery Trammell

Rita Montgomery Trammell was born in Nashville, Tennessee on September 18, 1964 to Nanni Vaughn Holt and Alvin Webster Montgomery. God called her home on August 2, 2022. 

Rita was educated in Nashville Public Schools and was a graduate of Pearl High School in 1982. She continued her education at Baptist Nursing School where she earned her LPN with a technical associate’s degree. 

A native of North Nashville, Rita was devoted to the North Nashville community and loved spending time with her family and friends. Her family will always remember her being an amazing sister and mother. Fiercely loyal and kind-hearted, Rita had an unwavering commitment to supporting and defending members in her family as well as friends. Rita also loved watching sports especially her “Alabama Boys”, often saying “Roll Tide Roll.”  She made a tremendous and lasting impact on everyone she encountered and will be missed by all. 

Rita preceded in death by mother, Nanni Vaughn Holt father Alvin W. Montgomery, sisters Betty A. Smith-London, Yvonne Allen, brother James E Holt Jr., Brother in-law John “Danny” Davis.   

Rita’s memory will forever be cherished. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Trammell, daughters; Ja’Lisa Montgomery and RaShanda Montgomery, granddaughter; Ariana Montgomery, sisters; Elloweese (Tommy) Moton, Gwen (John) Sevier, Evelyn Davis, Yolanda Montgomery, brothers, Melvin (Ruthie) Holt, Alvin David (Rosemary) Montgomery, Randy (Sandra) Holt, devoted Aunt; Lucille Flenoy, and as well a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who she treasured over the years.
