Obituary of Margarette Ann Groves

Please share a memory of Margarette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Margarette Ann Groves was born on October 27, 1943 in Middleton, Tennessee to Charlie Alexander and Edna Ledora (Parks) Groves.

Margarette was called home from labor to eternal rest on September 7, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Bobby Niel and Thomas Alexander, sister Mary Louise Dotson, sister-in-law Patricia Dotson Smith, nephew Charley Lawrence Groves and nieces Charlaya (Groves) Foote and Lori Groves-White.

Margarette professed her faith in Christ at an early age and was an active member of Bowers Chapel Methodist Church, in Middleton, where she was baptized in 1958. As she had moved to Nashville, Tennessee Margarette also
attended, and subsequently joined the Lee Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Here she was an active and dedicated member of the Sunday School Department and served on the Usher Board and Nursing Unit for many years.

Margarette was also active in the community, including volunteering with Meals on Wheels and a member of the Order of Eastern Star Prince Hall affiliation.

Margarette leaves to cherish her memory: one devoted sister, Charlene (Groves) Scott of Carbondale, Illinois, dedicated sister-in-law and friend, June Groves of Nashville, Tennessee, loving brother-in-law, Elder Robert E. Dotson of Jacksonville, Florida, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her Church Family from Bowers Chapel Methodist Church and Lee Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Please keep the Groves family in your thoughts and prayers.
