Obituary of Myrtle Mae Parker

Myrtle Mae Parker was born on April 1, 1934 in Prospect, Tennessee in Giles County to the union of Jamison and Jeffie Dee Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings (Freda Lee, Jamison Jenkins, Jr. and Bernadean Payne). Myrtle was educated in Prospect and Nashville Public Schools.

 

She was baptized at St. James Missionary Church on Mt. Elliott at Pulford in Detroit, Michigan.

 

Myrtle married Willie Kirk and later George Parker who preceded her in death.

 

On the evening of Friday, January 20, 2023 she passed at the age of 88.  Myrtle was the life partner of Langford Brown, III for 24 years. There were no children born to the union.

 

She leaves to cherish loving memory her loving life partner, Langford Brown, III; grandson, James Gibbs; nieces, Cheryl Coleman, Toni Lee, Pamela (John) Slappy and Dorcel Benson; nephews, Darryl Payne, Michael Jenkins and Cecil Payne, Jr.; numerous great nieces and nephews; cousins and other relatives; and a host of special friends in Detroit, Michigan.
