Q: How did you meet Natalie?
A: I met Nat when I began working for the MNPS School Psychology department. She ran the resource room, where all our test kits and materials were stored, as well as the keys to be able to score online. I didn't know her as well as many of my colleagues, but I experienced her quick wit, her unfailing helpfulness, and positive outlook. I knew quickly that she was a Christian, and I admired how she shared her faith openly in the course of a conversation, without attempts to proselytize. I was thankful that, as she declined, she was closer to family. Rest in peace, Nat.

I offer my sincerest condolences and sympathy following Nat's passing. She was such a beautiful soul, and I missed her dearly after she retired. It wasn't until about 15 years ago that I got to know her better, which was a blessing to me. That's the thing--Nat was a blessing to everyone she knew. Yes, she was an upbeat encourager and great listener, but she was also no-nonsense, which I appreciated. As important as work was to her, it was completely eclipsed by how important her family was to her. You couldn't spend time with Nat and not know how deeply she loved all her children and grandchildren. You all were absolutely the most important things in her life, her pride, and her greatest joy. That's the thing I remember and appreciate the most about Nat, her undying and unconditional devotion to her family. Of everything, that's the best legacy of all. Peace be upon each of you.

Q: What 3 words best describe Natalie and why?
A: Nat was always a listener. She gave sage advice and wonderful hugs. She adored her family and would talk about them with a huge smile on her face. I miss her. Heaven gained a true angel.

Where do I start? My heart goes out to all of Nat’s family. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I met Nat 38 years ago. She was such a kind and caring person to me as well as to the whole psychology staff at MNPS. Nat was such a great listener as well as an advisor. She always had a story to tell. I was very fortunate to have offices in the same building with Nat over the years. Our last office together was at Ross Early Learning Center. We were there for 7 years before Nat retired. I remember we would check in with each other every morning to say hello and if we were going to be in the office that day or not. When we were in the office, we would have such great conversations. Nat often spoke lovingly about her family and was so very proud of her children and grandchildren. She truly touched so many lives and helped to make our part of the world better. Nat was a dear friend and colleague, and she will be deeply missed.

I had the honor of working with Nat in MNPS. She always had a smile and hug. I teased her she should be a minister because she was such a good listener and gave such great Godly advice. She helped me just by being in her presence. She had a way with supporting other human beings beyond explanation. She will forever be missed here in MNPS. She will forever be missed in my heart. I love how she told me about her family members every time we spoke. She was so very proud of their accomplishments! There was always something exciting with the family going on. God has an amazing angel singing, laughing, and watching over us all now in Nat. I love you NAT! Tell my sweet dad hello and don't y'all injure yourselves laughing too hard telling each other stories!
