Obituary of Ernest Minaya

Ernest N Minaya,  aged 90, passed away peacefully on March 11,  2023. He was the son of Nicholas and Olivia Minaya, and grew up with his brother Frank in Brooklyn New York. He is survived by his nephew, Gregory Minaya. He was a devoted husband to his wife Edna West Minaya who preceded him in death in 2013.

Ernie was a member of the United States Air Force and served a tour of duty in post-war Japan where he had many interesting experiences. After his career in the military, he became a skilled dental laboratory technician. He ran a successful business for many years in Nashville until his retirement in 2012.   Ernie had a great love of the outdoors. He was passionate about  hunting and fishing. He also loved motorcycling (although he had to hide this hobby from his wife!)

He remained physically active throughout his life and was an active member of the downtown Nashville YMCA. 

Ernie was a supreme gentleman, a teacher, and a friend. His cheerful wit and smile will be missed by us all.  

Family and Friends will gather for a Graveside service for Ernie on Wednesday, March 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Historic Greenwood Main Cemetery
