Obituary of Howard Alfred Fuqua, Jr.

Howard Alfred Fuqua, Jr. 82 of Nashville, TN passed away at his home in Goodlettsville, TN on March 22, 2023.

Howard was born on February 8, 1941, to Howard Alfred Fuqua, Sr., and Cecil Tommie Fuqua (preceded in death) of Nashville, TN.  Howard graduated from Pearl High School in 1959, he went on to study at Fisk University where he was initiated in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc, Alpha Delta Chapter. 

Howard, also known as “Turk”, never met a stranger and was the light of any room he was in.  Howard was an avid golfer and drove a truck with State Industries until his retirement in 2002 after 32 years of service.  He enjoyed joking, laughing, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  Howard leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 48 years Dora (Dody) Fuqua; children, Altie (Kevin) Jordan, Dayna (Anthony) Sewell, Howard Fuqua, III, Wendall (Stephanie) Fuqua and Shauna (Delmas) Dennis of Nashville, TN.  Grandchildren: Myah, Jasmine, Anthony Jr., Kennedy, Ariann, Katherine, Jerrica, Victoria, Brandon, Lashonda, Ricky, Alex, Tiffany, Shawn, Tishana, and Tiara.  Brothers: Ronald (Cheri) Fuqua and Mark (Milisea) Fuqua. Sisters: Hortense Lumpkin and Yvette Page, a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, fraternity brothers and friends.
