Obituary of Darian Rashad Johnson

Darian Rashad Johnson, 32, transcended home on March 22, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. Darian was born in Knoxville, Tennessee and moved to Antioch at the age of 8. He was a dedicated and loving father, son, and brother. Darian was a graduate of Antioch High School, class of 2009. He attended Tennessee State University before deciding to pursue a career in the music industry, a childhood dream of his. Through his musical endeavors he made his imprint on the world as Kushy. He is preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Guy Bailey and Arwilder (William) Solomon, grandfather Charles Johnson Sr., and uncles Michael Johnson and Carlus Bailey. He leaves to cherish his memory parents: Charles and Jeanetria Johnson, sister: LaToya Johnson, son: Rashad Johnson, nieces: Raleigh and Kinsley, nephew: Kendrick. Devoted aunts Nadine Bailey and Dianne Stanford of Knoxville TN, and Linda Walker of Memphis, TN. Uncles: Tyrone Moore and Darryl Bailey of Knoxville, TN, Gerald Johnson of Memphis, TN, and Jeffery (Lori) Johnson of Springdale, AK. Devoted cousins Jeffery Johnson Jr., Trezell Groce, and Demeatress Bailey. Fiancé Kristyn Osborne. Devoted mother of his son Shadaja Durham. Devoted friends Shondarrius Cook, Michael House, Jerry Gilt, Dominic Howard, Jason (Bunnie) DeFord, aka Jelly Roll and several other friends and family that shared a love for Darian. Darian was a light, he had the ability to lift you in good and bad times, speaking positivity into others. Darian was selfless, he’d go without to ensure others had what they needed. He was intentional about improving he lives of others. Darian was a provider and fiercely protective of the people he loved. Darian had wisdom beyond his years and would often impart knowledge and guidance to those smart enough to listen. Darian’s presence alone would bring you joy, he had an infectious smile with contagious laughter. Darian would tell these stories that would captive you. Darian lived life to the fullest, traveling to Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Hawaii, Bermuda and from the east to the west coast. Darian was able to connect with people from any walk of life and accepted people for who they were.
