Obituary of James McKnight, Jr.

James McKnight, Jr. transitioned on August 27, 2023 in Clarksville, TN. He was born to the union of Charlene & James McKnight, Sr. on June 16, 1962. James was educated in the Metro Public Schools and graduated from Pearl High School in 1980. James loved to sing and listen to music.  He was employed by several nursing home facilities in Nashville prior to his illness. James accepted Christ at an early age, and in later years joined Payne Chapel A.M.E Church and was a member of the choir.

James was preceeded in death by his parents Charlene & James McKnight, Sr.; siblings, Beneta Hathaway, Sylvia Moore, and Kenneth Clay.  He leaves to cherish his memories  sisters, Elizabeth Clay, Monica McKnight; brother, Ralph Clay; aunt, Marion Davis; nieces, nephews, cousins and life long friends Robert Bell,  Vivan Miller, Ken Taylor, Willie Marable Jr., Rodney Anderson and the late John Anderson, and many, many other friends.
