Obituary of Estella L. Clements

Estella L. Rucker Clements was the first child born into the union of the late Jesse J. Rucker Sr. and Otha H. McKnight Rucker. Estella was baptized at an early age and was a member of Emerey United Methodist Church Rutherford County (Murfreesboro, TN).

She received her primary and secondary education from the Rutherford County School System and attended Bradley Academy and Hollway High School where she maintained academic excellence, as a reward Estella received several metals presented by the " Better Home and Garden Club" of Murfreesboro, which she treasured greatly. She was also the valedictorian of her graduating class of "1953". Estella received a bachelor's degree from " Tennessee State A & I University. She taught high school for two years in a small town in West Tennessee before moving to Los Angeles, California where she lived for fifty years.

Estella was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Clements; brother, Jesse Rucker Jr. (sister-in-law Wilma Hunter Rucker). To cherish her memory: brother, Richard Rucker Sr. (Deborah); sisters Dorothy Rucker & Mary Rucker; niece Tomeka Rucker; nephews: Jasper Russell, Richard Rucker Jr. (Terressa), Monye Shawn Rucker; step-daughter Daneal (Bobby) Gartrell); step-grand-children, Ronda & Randall Gartrell; very dear and devoted friends: Carol Mitchell, Jo German, Dorothy Orr and Carolyn Rome.
