Obituary of Gloria Blakemore Walker

Gloria Esther Walker transitioned on September 29, 2023, with her family by her side.

Gloria was born February 7, 1939, in Nashville, TN to Murray and Lucille Blakemore. She was christened at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. She was a Brownie, Girl Scout, Member of the drama club, danced on tv to Frosty the Snowman and sang at the National Baptist Convention. Mrs. Walker Graduated from Pearl High School in 1956 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree at Philander Smith College in 1960.

She was an active member of Links Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, High Bidders Bridge Club, Jack and Jill of America, Urban League of Greater Little Rock, NAACP, Ballet Arkansas, Home and Garden Club, Delta Dears, Member of the choir and a slew of committees at the church.

Gloria is survived by her children, Pamela Walker, Patricia Newberry, John Walker, Murray Walker, and Esther (Kevin) Bullard and 13 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
