Harvey Stephenson, Jr. was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Harvey Stephenson Sr. and Mary Poindexter on September 10, 1942. He transitioned from this early life on October 23, 2023 after a short illness at Tristar Medical Center. He gave his life to Christ shortly before his passing.

Harvey attended Booker T. Washington High School in 1954. He was employed by JM Smucker for many years, where he retired from in 2009.

Harvey was passionate about his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his blunt personality, incredible dance moves, bold stories, and his love of cowboy films. He also loved watching the TV show Press Your Luck.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and late wife, Emma Lee Stephenson. He is survived by children Faronda Banks (Carl), Reginald Stephenson (Rose), Carolyn Horsley (Danny), and Tammy Lowery (Leroy), seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
