Obituary of Theodora L. Howell

On Friday, November 10, 2023 our beloved Theodora Lewis Howell (Teddy) passed. She was ninety-three years old. Born to Reverend. John T. Lewis and Esther Green Lewis, on June 8, 1930 in Nashville Tennessee. Theodora was a twin to her brother Theordore Lewis. She was the last standing of all siblings.

Theodora was a graduate of Pearl High School class of 1950 and a graduate of Tennessee A&I State University in 1964 with a major in Elementary Education. She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Nashville Chapter Links Inc., The Holidays Inc. Metro Nashville Chapter, and the Tidewater Chapter before she relocated to Nashville. In 1964 she went on to work at Clover bottom Developmental Center as a teacher for individuals with developmental challenges which requires patience, creativity, and empathy in which she possessed.

After working in Nashville, she relocated to Hampton Virginia where she worked as an elementary school teacher. Theodora taught for 30 years in the Virginia school system.

Theodora gave birth to four children Tyrone Howell, Cordell Howell, Lonnie Young and Armetta White.

Theodora also shared her love by caring for others. She confessed Christ at a young age. She believed in God and was a devoted Christian. She was a member of Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church. She believed the kind of happiness that is true and deep is Spiritual happiness. She enjoyed traveling and helping people in the community. She was lively, energetic, loved people, engaging, and had a humble spirit.

Theodora leaves her children Tyrone (Loretta) Howell, Cordell Howell, Lonnie (Katrina) Young, Armetta White and five grandchildren Alexis Young, Alyse Young, Andrew Young, a great grandchild Kairee Howell and a host of relatives, and friends.

She was loved and will be missed!!!
