It's been 4 years since the world lost Michelle, I just wanted to let her family know that I served on the USS Ronald Reagan and our paths crossed a few times, very briefly, but even those brief moments were enough to know that she was an amazing light in this world, and I wish that I could have been there for her when she needed support. I attended Vanderbilt for graduate studies from August 2020 through August 2021, it saddens me that she was treated badly and that she dealt with depression as well. I will always remember her, as will all those that were lucky enough to know her, if even just for a moment. To her parents, thank you for raising such a kind soul, the world remembers her and misses her dearly.

I did not know Michelle but, as a fellow graduate student at Vanderbilt, I am shattered at the news of her passing. She deserved better than the toxic community that Vanderbilt fosters. My heart goes out to her family and friends at this unfathomably trying time.

I am also an employee at the university Michelle attended. I am in a different department and never interacted with her, but I wish I had known her. I am so sorry that she was not supported here. Graduate school is a trying time, but that is no excuse for poor behavior between or toward students. I hope that her spirit has found peace, and that her family will, as well. My sincerest condolences. May we all treat each other better.

I didn’t know Michelle, but I am an employee at the University she attended. I am so sorry for your tragic loss, and sorry that there was not more of a community to support her here in this trying place. I hope that she has found peace, and that your family is able to eventually heal from this unimaginable loss. I will remember her.

I didn't know Michelle, but want to express my condolences to her family. She was and will forever be beautiful and obviously had a spirit of service and was determined to fight for a cure for cancer. Death is always difficult and the circumstances can make it more difficult. I definitely know God loved Michelle and loves all of you. If you haven't read or heard of the poem, "Footprints", I encourage you to read it. Lastly, Philippians 4:6-7 says Be anxious for nothing but through prayer and supplication make your request know to God with thanksgiving and the peace of God will transcend your heart and mind. God is our ultimate giver of peace. God bless you all.
