Letter of respect for Mr Emmitt R Johnson
Rev Vanessa Holmon, The Officers and Members of Mary’s Chapel AME Church are so sorry to hear of the loss of Brother Emmett R Johnson. He was a Man who loved the Lord, and didn’t mind letting you know it. Brother Johnson served his Church in any capacity that he was asked to serve, working in several ministries. Bro Johnson loved our Annual Homecomings, not missing any until his health failed. He was a loving Father with a heart of Gold who worked hard to take care of His Family. He loved his community, serving as one of the first African American men to join the Police force here in Fayetteville. Brother Johnson was also loved by the youth in Fayetteville as he taught several how to skate. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Please accept our sincere and heartfelt condolences at this most difficult of times and please pass these feelings onto your family.
2 Corinthians 1:4 Says, “He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us”.
We here at Mary’s Chapel pray that the Lord will comfort the family and let them know that he is near the brokenhearted and is the source of all comfort and that he is faithful and his promises are true. With the help of the Lord, you will get through all that you are facing and hope and peace will fill your hearts. In Jesus’ name we ask these things.

Q: What will you never forget about Emmett?
A: Tex tried to teach me to skate. Funniest thing ever. Finally he gave up on me. I remember how great he was skating. He was like another father to us. It was a blessing to grow up as his neighbor.
